Meanwhile, information has come to light that Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot is not in Bengaluru today. According to Raj Bhavan sources, he had to go to Mumbai for some important work.

After the absence of the Governor, a big question has arisen that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wants to resign, then to whom and how will he resign? The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has clarified the situation on this.

The Chief Minister’s Office said that we will submit our resignation to the Governor’s office. Even if the Governor is not available, we will continue our work. There will be no change in the plan due to the absence of the Governor.

What does the rule say?

According to constitutional rules, if the Governor is out of the state or city, the Chief Minister can submit his resignation to the Secretary of the Raj Bhavan or a designated officer. It is considered legally valid and is accepted as soon as the Governor returns or receives his consent.

Will resign after breakfast meeting

It is noteworthy that Siddaramaiah will resign from the post of Chief Minister today i.e. Thursday at 10.30 am. Now it is certain for DK Shivkumar to become CM. DK Shivakumar will take oath as the new CM of Karnataka on May 30. Siddaramaiah has called all the ministers for breakfast at his residence today. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar will also come here directly from Delhi today. After the breakfast meeting, CM Siddaramaiah will resign from his post.

3 deputy CMs can be made

At the same time, there is also talk of making three Deputy CMs in Karnataka. According to sources, these 3 Deputy CMs can be made from Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Class and women category. Those who are in the race for possible Deputy Chief Ministers by the Congress party include the names of Parameshwar/Priyank Kharge from Dalit quota, Yatindra from Other Backward Class and MB Patil/Ishwar Khandre from Lingayat and KJ George/UT Khadar/Zameer from Minority.
