CSK vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings continued their excellent performance in the Indian Premier League 2026 and registered their second consecutive win by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs. Batting first, Chennai scored a strong score of 192/5, in response to which KKR could only reach 160 runs for 7 wickets. The hero of Chennai’s victory was Noor Ahmed, who took 3 wickets for just 21 runs in 4 overs and broke the back of Kolkata’s batting. However, Rovman Powell (31*) and Ramandeep Singh (35) tried to take control of the team by making a partnership of 63 runs, but remained away from victory.
Earlier, Sanju Samson (48) and Dewald Brevis (41) played important innings for Chennai, while Ayush Mhatre gave the team a fast start by scoring 38 runs in 17 balls. For KKR, Karthik Tyagi took 2 wickets, while Sunil Narine bowled economically and took 1 wicket.
Rahane praised the bowlers
After the defeat, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane gave a balanced reaction on the team’s performance. He said that the team did well in bowling. 190 was a very good score on this wicket. The way we restricted Chennai to 190 was very good. Initially it seemed that looking at our batting, we scored only 36 or 37 runs in the power play. He thought it was really important. We needed a batsman who would play till the end so that we would have a good chance.
He said that in terms of the combination that we had, in the last match and this match, it was really good. It is difficult not to win the match. In such times, we have to keep our heads high and maintain courage. If the results are not going in your favour, you have to think about combinations, but it is about staying positive and keeping your head high. Karthik is bowling really well to Tyagi. Full credit goes to him. The speed at which he is bowling is fantastic. Match by match, he is improving his skills. It is not easy for batsmen to hit big sixes. The spinners of both the teams bowled very well. We have to keep our heads high, stay positive and maintain confidence.
