NEET 2026 exam has been canceled after the paper leak. Along with this, a new date for the re-examination has also been announced. Meanwhile, a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding NEET exam. This petition has been filed by RJD MP Sudhakar Singh, social worker Anubhav Garg, national spokesperson of Indian Medical Association Dr. Dhruv Chauhan and political leader Harisharan Devgan through Supreme Court lawyer Satyam Singh Rajput. The petition demands changes in the NEET-UG 2026 examination system.
Demand to conduct examination in CBT mode
The petitioners have raised questions on the existing pen-and-paper examination system of NEET-UG and demanded its immediate conversion to Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The petition urges the Supreme Court to “direct the proposed re-conduct examination on June 21, 2026, to be conducted in CBT mode instead of the traditional offline mode. Also, the Central Government and concerned agencies be asked to present a time-bound roadmap for converting NEET-UG into a completely digital examination system, which should include aspects like preparation of examination centres, cyber security arrangements and ensuring access to the candidates.”
Demand to remove NTA
The petitioners have also demanded the replacement of the National Examination Agency (NTA) with a new, independent and transparent National Examination Authority, which would function under legal accountability and judicial monitoring. Apart from this, an appeal has been made to form a high-level monitoring committee comprising retired Supreme Court judges, educationists, psychologists, cyber security experts and forensic experts, which should suggest structural reforms in the security arrangements of national examinations.
Demand to make security protocols mandatory
The petition also demands that the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan Committee be strictly implemented and encrypted digital paper transmission, biometric verification, AI based monitoring systems and stringent cyber security protocols be made mandatory in all national examinations. “Digital locking” of question papers and adoption of CBT model have been said to be necessary steps to stop paper leaks.
