Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami looked very emotional on the demise of former CM Major General (retired) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri. On receiving the information about the demise of General Khanduri, Chief Minister Dhami not only immediately returned to Dehradun from Chhattisgarh but also attended the last rites in Haridwar on Wednesday.

CM Dhami immediately left for Dehradun from Chhattisgarh.

When General BC Khanduri died on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was attending the meeting of the Central Regional Council held under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. On receiving the sad news, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately left for Dehradun.

Here he went straight to General Khanduri’s residence in Basant Vihar and paid his heartfelt tributes to him. Also consoled the bereaved family. Along with this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, paying tribute to General Khanduri’s contribution towards the state, directed for three days of state mourning as well as one day holiday in the state. The Chief Minister also directed to conduct the funeral of General Khanduri with police honours.

Gave shoulder to the dead body during funeral procession

Grief-stricken Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also reached the residence of General BC Khanduri on Wednesday morning, where along with offering flowers to the mortal remains, he also extended his shoulder. After this he reached BJP headquarters with the dead body. Also attended the funeral organized in Haridwar. The Chief Minister looked very emotional and sad during this period.
