A big news has come to light amid the internal tussle within Karnataka Congress. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will leave for Delhi tonight at 7:00 pm by a special flight. Tomorrow morning he will meet the Congress high command. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar can also reach Delhi. The Congress high command can take a decision regarding Karnataka in tomorrow’s meeting.
According to sources, the Congress high command has called both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka to Delhi. There will be a meeting at Congress President Mallikarjuna’s house at 11 am. It is not clear yet whether the meeting of both will be held together or separately. This meeting will take place tomorrow.
Cabinet reshuffle or leadership change?
According to sources, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is demanding a cabinet reshuffle in the state, while Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar wants him to be made the Chief Minister. It is being told that DK Shivakumar is not in favor of cabinet reshuffle. A decision related to reshuffle or change of leadership can be taken in tomorrow’s meeting.
Apart from this, three Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant from Karnataka will also be discussed in tomorrow’s meeting. The party is considering fielding the Congress President on one seat and a Lingayat face on the other. Discussion is going on on the name of the third seat, in which one name is that of the Deputy Chief Minister’s brother. Suresh is also doing well.
Statement from Siddaramaiah and Shivkumar
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave a statement saying, “I have been called to Delhi. Tomorrow at 11 o’clock I am meeting the top leadership of the party. Last night Venugopal informed me on phone and told me the date and time. I do not know what is the topic of the meeting, there is always speculation.”
Meanwhile, DK Shivkumar said, “I don’t know what Surjewala has told you, he didn’t say anything to me. If I am called, I will also go, otherwise I will stay here only. I don’t know anything on the issue of change of Chief Minister. I don’t want to give any comment on it.”
