The churning in Congress regarding the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections has intensified. According to party sources, Congress is likely to get several Rajya Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka, while in Jharkhand, one seat may go to Congress as its India Block ally.

Discussion on these names from Rajasthan

According to sources, the most discussed names from Rajasthan include Ashok Gehlot, Pawan Kheda and sitting MP Neeraj Dangi. Whereas the names of Kamal Nath and Jitu Patwari are being discussed from Madhya Pradesh. It is being told that Kamal Nath had recently met Sonia Gandhi and expressed his desire to go to Rajya Sabha.

Any former CM can be sent to Rajya Sabha

There is also discussion within the Congress that a former Chief Minister can be sent to Rajya Sabha to save the Type-7 bungalow located at 24 Akbar Road, Delhi. Leaders within the party whose names are being discussed in this context are said to include Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Nath and Bhupesh Baghel.

At the same time, in Karnataka, Mallikarjun Kharge going to Rajya Sabha is considered almost certain.
