Indian cricket is going to have a very busy schedule in the upcoming international cricket, in which a two-match Test series will be played on Sri Lanka tour from August 15. A limited overs series is proposed for Team India’s tour of Bangladesh in the month of September, but till now no official announcement has been made by both the boards regarding the same. On this tour, the Indian team has to play a series of three ODI and three T20 matches, but the cricket relations between the two countries reached a very low level this year due to Bangladesh team not participating in the T20 World Cup 2026. Now the statement of BCB chief Tamim Iqbal regarding Team India’s tour of Bangladesh has come out, in which he has expressed confidence that the Indian team will visit his country to play the series.
I am in talks with BCCI
According to Cricbuzz, in the statement given by the current head of Bangladesh Cricket Board and former player Tamim Iqbal regarding the tour of Team India, he said that unfortunately, I do not have any news about the series against India. I am in talks with BCCI and there are emails being exchanged between BCB members in which we are trying from all sides. The excitement about Bangladesh’s series against India is at a different level. I am sure that journalists, fans, cricketers all have the same enthusiasm. Bangladesh is a very safe country and I have full hope that he will come. Whatever steps need to be taken from our side, we are trying. But one thing we all need to understand is that I am the BCB President and I also have a limit which I should never cross. Therefore, I am doing whatever is possible within the scope of my responsibility from my position.
Decision regarding the series will be taken soon
Tamim Iqbal made it clear in his statement that a decision regarding this series will be taken soon, in which he said that the discussions held so far have been very positive. Perhaps very soon we will know whether there will be a series or not. While the Bangladesh team is currently on a tour of Australia to play a 2-match Test series, they have also started preparations for the ODI World Cup 2027 and have decided to hand over the captaincy to Liton Das till the World Cup in this format.
