Today’s Weather: Two different colors of weather are being seen in the country at present. While on one hand the period of scorching heat is starting with the beginning of ‘Nautapa’ from today, on the other hand the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of storm and rain in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Himachal. Heavy rain and strong winds with a speed of 50 to 70 km/hour are expected in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Northeast India for the next 4-5 days. It is a matter of relief that the south-west monsoon is progressing rapidly.
Weather condition in major states-
- There is a severe heat wave alert in Delhi-NCR for the next three days (25-27 May). However, today on May 25 evening, there may be a dusty storm with a speed of 65 km/hr and light drizzle.
- There will be mixed effect of heat and rain in Uttar Pradesh. Heat wave and dusty winds will continue till May 28 in many districts including Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in Eastern UP between May 25 and 29.
- Humidity will trouble many areas of Bihar including Patna, Muzaffarpur and Gaya. There is a forecast of storm and rain in the state from May 25 to 28.
- In many parts of Jharkhand, including Ranchi and Dhanbad, the effect of heavy storms and rains and heat wave at some places will continue till May 30.
Weather condition in Rajasthan and Punjab
The mercury has reached around 45 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan. There will be dusty storm with severe heat wave here till 30th May. At the same time, there is an alert of severe heat wave in Punjab till May 28, after which there can be relief from rain on May 28-30.
Weather patterns in hilly states
There is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in Uttarakhand till May 29. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir will also remain cloudy till May 30, with strong winds and thunderstorms.
