OnePlus has made a big announcement in India amidst the news of exit in Europe and American market. The company has prepared for major changes in its software strategy. OxygenOS will not be available in phones launched with the company’s Android 17 operating system. Now the company’s phones will be offered with ColorOS in India also. OnePlus has already been launching its devices with ColorOS in the Chinese market.
Why was the decision taken?
The businesses of OnePlus, Realme and Oppo will now be seen under a single umbrella. For this, the Chinese company has prepared for a major global restructuring. OnePlus’s OxygenOS, Oppo’s ColorOS and Realme’s Realme UI, all three operating systems come with almost similar features. In such a situation, the company does not want to have different user interfaces in different markets so that they can get a more stable, reliable and future ready software experience.
It is clear from the announcement of the Chinese brand that OnePlus 16 will be introduced with ColorOS 17. This will be the first device of the brand, in which ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 can be found. However, the company has not yet officially released the list of eligible devices of this operating system. Soon, an announcement regarding this can be made.
Exit from American and European markets
Apart from this, OnePlus has made a big announcement through the American Community Forum. The company has confirmed through the community forum that OnePlus is going to exit from the markets of America, Europe and Canada. This is part of the company’s global strategy adjustment. However, users using OnePlus devices in these regions will continue to receive software and security updates.
Along with OnePlus taking exit from Europe and American market, another news has come out in which it is being claimed that the company can also take exit from Indian market next year i.e. in 2027. However, no official announcement has been made by OnePlus regarding this. On the contrary, the company is going to launch new models of Nord N series in India. The company is expanding the Nord series in India.
