After losing the first match of the three-match ODI series being played between India and England, host England made a brilliant comeback in the second match and leveled the series at 1-1. England saw a brilliant performance by the bowlers in the second ODI in which they restricted Team India’s innings to 233 runs and achieved the target in 44.1 overs. Team India was seen moving towards a big score in this match, but due to losing 7 wickets within 60 runs in the middle overs, the innings ended quickly. After the end of the match, England captain Harry Brook also expressed surprise while Team India captain Gill also said that poor batting was the main reason for the defeat in the match.
It was a bit strange to lose 7 wickets within 60 runs
After the victory in the Cardiff ODI match, England captain Harry Brook praised his bowlers and said that we are still in this series and now we are waiting for the last match. I think it was a tremendous effort on our part to restrict the score to 233 runs. After 30 overs, Team India’s score was 180 runs at the loss of 3 wickets and it was moving towards a big score. In such a situation, I think Sam Curran and Will Jacques bowled very well and then in the end they lost 7 wickets within 60 runs which I think was a bit strange. Considering the conditions in this match, we included an additional fast bowler in the playing 11, which was a very right decision.
There is a lot to learn from the route
England had a very bad start while chasing the target in the second ODI, in which they lost both their opening batsmen at the score of 8. After this, their most experienced player Joe Root held one end and returned after playing an unbeaten inning of 99 runs, leading England to victory. Regarding this, Harry Brook said that he is a tremendous player and you can learn a lot from him even in the changing room. I remember one of his innings a few years ago, in which I think he hit just three fours and scored 100 runs, which is amazing. Now we are looking towards the last ODI match and will see how the conditions are there and try to win it.
