“If the arrested students are not released by Tuesday, there will be protest again”, CJP’s Saurav Das said – ‘Kapil Sibal is also with us’

Cockroach Janata Party spokesperson Saurav Das has said that if the arrested students are not released by Tuesday, CJP will start protesting again. He said that on July 25, the government had given assurance that no action would be taken against the protesting students. However, now action is being taken against the people involved in the protest. He said that if a written agreement is not reached by Tuesday and the students arrested across the country are not released, then the Cockroach Janata Party will be forced to resume its strike. During the hearing of a petition against lathicharge on protesters, the Supreme Court on Monday said that the Constitution gives the right to peaceful protest and “police excesses” or “lathicharge” cannot be justified by citing any movement.

Saurav Das told that Rajya Sabha MP and one of the country’s senior lawyers Kapil Sibal is also with him. Kapil Sibal has also given one lakh rupees. This money will be used to provide legal help to the protesters. Kapil Sibal said, “We have decided that wherever there are cases against them, we will provide them legal help. I will give one crore rupees from my side, so that the legal battle can be fought. I will also ask others to contribute. It seems that Delhi Police will target people through facial recognition. Communal angle can also be brought into it. We all have to decide that they will not be targeted. Let it be done.”

Asked for list of cases registered against protesters

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said, “In the conversation with Nadda ji and Jitendra Singh ji and Delhi Police Commissioner on July 25, they had said that they will give us the copy of the FIR lodged so far, but it has not been given to us till now. We would like the copy of the APIR to be given to us as soon as possible.” At the same time, Saurav Das said, “We will create a website so that we can reach out to the people. We will file an FIR against the Rapid Action Force and Delhi Police, ask those who were assaulted to upload videos. It was agreed that there will be no FIR against any protestor or organizer. If a written agreement is not reached by tomorrow and the students arrested across the country are not released, then CJP will be forced to restart its protest.”

CJP leaders will collect evidence through ‘Sakshi’ platform

‘Sakshi’ platform has been launched to collect evidence of alleged police excesses. CJP spokesperson said that action will be taken against the policemen who allegedly assaulted and molested the girls during the protest. For this purpose, an online platform named ‘Sakshi’ has been started. CJP has appealed to people who have videos, photos or other evidence related to the alleged police action during the protest to upload them on this platform. CJP says that on the basis of this evidence, legal action will be taken against the concerned policemen.

There will be no action against peaceful protesters

According to sources, the government says that no action will be taken against the people protesting peacefully. If an FIR has been lodged against such a person, it will be withdrawn. However, the government’s attitude so far is indicating that people who indulge in violence during the protests will not be spared.
