The Indian Meteorological Department has said that now the period of unseasonal rains is over in the country and the temperature will increase rapidly in the next seven days. At present, cold is being felt even in the month of April, but in the coming days the temperature will increase rapidly throughout North and Central India. At the same time, heat in South India can be troublesome. Day temperatures are likely to remain below normal to near normal over most parts of northwest, central and eastern India during the next 2-3 days and gradually rise to above normal thereafter.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in north-eastern India and humid heat in southern India next week. At the same time, a warning has also been given regarding hailstorm in Assam and Meghalaya. Two western disturbances are active in India, the effect of which will be seen next week. However, these are quite weak. Because of this, their impact will not be seen in the plains. There may be rain in Jammu Kashmir and Himachal. At the same time, there is also a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas. IMD said that there are chances of light to moderate rain in Eastern India on April 9-10 and Northeast India during the next 5 days. There may also be thunder and lightning along with rain. At the same time, there may be intermittent rain in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh.
How much will the mercury rise in the next seven days?
- Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 6-8 degrees Celsius over western Himalayan region, 8-10 degrees Celsius over plains of northwest India, and 4-6 degrees Celsius over central India by April 15.
- As a result, day temperatures are likely to remain below normal to near normal over most parts of northwest, central and eastern India during the next 2-3 days and gradually rise to above normal thereafter.
- There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 6-8 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in the Western Himalayan region by April 15.
- There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 8-10 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures by April 15 over the plains of northwest India.
- There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 4-6 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature over Central India by April 15.
- No significant change is likely to occur in maximum temperatures over East India. After this, there is a possibility of a gradual increase of 5-7 degrees Celsius during 10-13 April and there will be no significant change on 14 and 15 April.
- There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 2-4 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in the state of Gujarat till April 12 and there will be no significant change during April 13-15.
- There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in Maharashtra at present and there is a possibility of a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius during 10-13 April and there will be no significant change on 14 and 15 April.
- There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the remaining parts of the country.
Effect of western disturbance will be visible in hilly areas
The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and North Eastern states in the next seven days. At the same time, the effect of heat can be seen in cities situated on the sea shore. The effect of heat can be seen from West Bengal to Kerala, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. At present no warning has been issued regarding heat wave.
