In an interview to ANI, Ramesh Sippy described Asha Bhosle’s demise as a deeply sad loss. He described the late singer as a wonderful personality, who will always be remembered for her incomparable music. He said, ‘Asha ji’s demise is indeed a sad moment. Asha ji was incomparable as a singer and as a human being. His demise is like the end of a century. She was a part of history, and will always be a part of music history…everything she sang will always be remembered and will always be remembered through her songs. She was also a wonderful person. Veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle died on Sunday in Mumbai at the age of 92, marking the end of an era in Indian music.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening due to extreme weakness and chest infection, where she died on Sunday. Confirming the cause of death, Dr. Pratit Samdani said, ‘Asha Bhosle breathed her last today at Breach Candy Hospital. He died due to multiple organ failure. Her son Anand Bhosale said, ‘My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande in Lower Parel, where she lived. His last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.
