central Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will inaugurate 7 projects related to ESI health services across the country on Tuesday. The Union Minister will launch these projects from the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Sanathnagar, Telangana. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Labor Ministry said that these health projects, costing about Rs 668 crore, will provide medical facilities to about 53 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Where and which projects will be started
According to the statement issued by the ministry, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will directly inaugurate the new OPD (Outpatient Department) building of ESIC Hospital located in Sanatnagar. Along with this, he will inaugurate 6 other projects through virtual medium. These projects include Advanced 200 Bed ESIC Hospital at Beltola, Assam, 100 Bed ESIC Hospital at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, ESIS Hospital at Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, ESI Dispensary and Branch Office at Surendranagar, Gujarat, ESI Dispensary and Branch Office at Udyog Nagar, Kota, Rajasthan and ESI Dispensary at Bhavani Mandi.
Cash benefits will be distributed to the beneficiaries
Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shobha Karandlaje will also participate in this program. During the program, Mansukh Mandaviya will honor the construction workers who contributed to the construction of the OPD building of ESIC Hospital, Sanatnagar, Telangana for their role in nation building. They will also distribute cash benefits to the beneficiaries of the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme.
ESIC Hospital, Sanatnagar
The new OPD block at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Sanathnagar will provide modern and comprehensive out-patient services to 12,30,183 insured persons and beneficiaries across Telangana, including Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts. Spread over 43,611.04 square meters at a total cost of Rs 211.13 crore, the hospital has OPD complexes for General Medicine, ENT, Dentistry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Pediatrics, General Surgery and AYUSH. Apart from this, there are also physical medicine and rehabilitation, radiology, yoga, 180 general beds, 25 ICU and 20 neonatal ICU beds, medical stores and a clinical lecture theatre.
ESIC Hospital, Beltola
The ESIC hospital at Beltola serves people from 47 districts of Assam and Meghalaya as well as 41 districts of Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. This facility is expected to benefit 3.42 lakh insured persons and a total of about 13.27 lakh beneficiaries.
ESIC Hospital, Sriperumbudur
The 100-bed ESIC hospital is located in Sriperumbudur, which has emerged as one of the major manufacturing and electronics hubs of India. The hospital will have facilities like OPD, emergency room, delivery room, operation theatre, ICU, IPD, X-ray and lab pharmacy, which will facilitate access to medical facilities for more than 5.5 lakh insured persons in Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur districts.
ESIS Hospital, Rajamahendravaram
The ESIS hospital at Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh will serve 1,31,190 insured persons and approximately 2,52,717 beneficiaries in total. It has key facilities including 26 specialized Out Patient Department rooms and three state-of-the-art modular operation theaters to handle the large number of patients.
ESI Dispensary & Branch Office, Surendranagar
About 9,192 insured persons are covered under the ESIC scheme in Surendranagar district of Gujarat. The ESI dispensaries and branch offices will help around 35,000 beneficiaries to avail the medical care and social security facilities of ESIC. This integrated facility will provide primary health services, medical consultation, essential medicines and other medical benefits under one roof.
ESI Dispensary & Branch Office, Udyog Nagar, Kota
The ESI Dispensary and Branch Office at Kota, Rajasthan will provide services to a large number of insured workers and their dependents living and working in the industrial area of Kota. The facility will benefit more than 1,500 employers and approximately 75,000 insured persons and their 291,000 dependents across its jurisdiction.
ESI Dispensary, Bhawani Mandi
This facility has been set up for the workers of Bhawani Mandi Industrial Cluster, one of the major textile hubs of Rajasthan. The establishment of this ESIS dispensary will provide health services to about 800 workers living in the surrounding area, including 27,715 insured persons and about 107,535 of their dependents.
