The expressway being built to ease the travel between Lucknow and Kanpur will now not only be a symbol of high speed, but will also become a new symbol of greenery and clean environment. Preparations have started to develop the vacant lands along the expressway as green belt. The special thing is that facilities like parks, pathways and swings for children will also be developed here, which will greatly benefit the people living nearby.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to fill the vacant lands on both sides of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway with greenery. Under this, a large number of trees and plants will be planted in the circular loop areas. This will enhance the beauty of the area and will also benefit the environment.
Plan made after DM’s inspection
Lucknow District Magistrate Visakh ji had recently inspected the expressway. During this time, his attention fell on the vacant lands along the elevated road near Darogakheda. On receiving information that this land belongs to NHAI, he instructed to develop these places as green belts and parks.
Parks, pathways and swings for children
According to NHAI, along with green belts, modern parks will also be built at these places. Pathways will be ready for people to walk in the morning and evening. Swings and other sports facilities will also be provided for the entertainment of children. With this, this area can become a center of attraction for the local people.
Will get relief from pollution and noise
The smoke and noise emanating from vehicles continuously plying on the expressway affects the surrounding areas. After the formation of the green belt, trees and plants will act as a natural barrier, which will help in reducing air and noise pollution. Besides this, people will also be able to get clean and fresh air.
Local people will benefit greatly
After the completion of this project, thousands of people living nearby will get greenery, clean environment and entertainment facilities at one place. This step of NHAI can make the expressway not only a medium of transportation but also an example of environmental protection and community development.
