BharatFS AI i.e. Bharat Forecast System is run with the help of two of the country’s most high-performance supercomputers Arka-IITM Pune and Arunika (NCMRWF Noida). This is the reason why this domestic forecast system of India can make very accurate predictions. Its special thing is that it updates the forecast from time to time in real time. Due to the AI feature, through this system the weather can be predicted with better accuracy even in short ranges.
What is special?
BharatFS AI system has been developed by IITM Pune. In this system, AI based decision support system and super computers are used to gather accurate weather information. This system can understand the changes in weather in an area of 6 kilometers in detail. Not only this, one can closely understand the events happening in a very small area. With its help, events caused by bad weather such as cloud burst, flash flood, landslide etc. can be predicted.
BharatFS AI system was adopted by Maharashtra in May. It has been included in the state disaster management system. This system proved its usefulness due to the heavy rains in July, due to which cloud burst alert was received in Nashik 24 hours in advance. Because of this, the disaster department already alerted people. Because of this, the administration got a chance to prepare for this. The terrible landslide that occurred in Wayanad, Kerala could also have been prevented with the help of this system. However, this system can be installed in other states also soon.
