What did Morne Morkel say about Vaibhav Suryavanshi?

Quoting news agency PTI, in the pre-match press conference in Lucknow, Morkel talked about the team’s preparations and players before the first T20 International match against West Indies. Specially mentioning the young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, he said that even if he does not get a chance to play in the playing-11 immediately, spending time with senior players in the dressing room, bus and hotel will prove to be very beneficial for his cricket career.

Suspense continues regarding opening

There is still suspense regarding India’s opening pair in the first T20 match against West Indies. There is every possibility that Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson will open, due to which Vaibhav Suryavanshi may have to sit out. Coach Morkel did not say anything clearly regarding the playing XI. He told that the team management will decide on the right playing combination before the match. He also said that it is very important to take care of the players’ fatigue and recovery due to continuous traveling after the Asian Games.

Morkel is eager to see Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav

Talking about the main goals of the team, Morkel said that India’s focus is on winning matches as well as building a strong bench strength. He praised spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s return to form and described him as a big match-winner. Apart from this, the coach was very excited to see Mayank Yadav, who is returning from injury, and young fast bowler Prince Yadav in action. He said that this series is a good opportunity for those players who were out of the team for some time and are coming back. Mayank Yadav is back from injury so I am curious to see how he performs when he gets his chance.
