Following the Supreme Court order, the HPEC portal has been launched in July to register complaints related to the protests that took place after NEET UG 2026. The purpose of this portal is to simplify the process of filing complaints. Now the concerned people can register their complaints related to the protests through the portal.
Two different forms were prepared
The High-Powered Inquiry Committee (HPEC), formed to probe the violence during the student protests in July over allegations of NEET UG paper leak and irregularities in the education system, has told the Supreme Court that the portal for filing complaints is ready. The committee filed a status report in the court stating that the responsibility of preparing the portal was given to the National Informatics Center (NIC). Two different forms have been prepared for filing complaints. One of these is for the people affected during the protest, while the other is for the policemen.
Arrangement to keep the identity of complainants secret
The committee said in its report that necessary arrangements are being made to maintain the confidentiality of complaints, evidence and statements. Its purpose is to protect witnesses who may be in danger after filing a complaint. A bench of Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana directed NIC through the Home Ministry to prepare the portal as per the needs of the committee. The court also said that all necessary arrangements should be made for the safety of witnesses. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured that if any facility is required, it will be provided without delay. The court directed the Home Ministry to provide all necessary facilities as per the requirement of the committee.
Notice will be issued in big newspapers also
The committee said that after the launch of the portal, public notices will be issued in big newspapers, so that more and more people can get information about it and register their complaints.
