Making a mark in the world of Bollywood and advertising is the dream of millions of youth. Many actors who came in front of the camera in childhood grow up and make a career in the entertainment world, but there are some who change their destination even before reaching the pinnacle of success. Similar is the story of Jas Khetani, who at the age of just 20 took a decision which may be difficult for many people to even imagine. Jas worked in more than 100 advertisements in his childhood. He has shared the screen with well-known personalities like Akshay Kumar and MS Dhoni and has also been a part of Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘Kaabil’. Despite this, he distanced himself from the world of acting and chose the path of Computer Science, Quantum Physics and Artificial Intelligence. Today, along with his studies, Jas is exploring new opportunities in the field of technology.

Worked in more than 100 advertisements, also seen in ‘Kaabil’

You might have seen Jas Khetani’s face many times in television advertisements. He gained recognition at an early age by appearing in advertisements for brands like Odomos, Dettol, Eveready, Rooh Afza and Masterchef. He was a part of more than 100 advertisements and got the opportunity to work with many famous personalities. Apart from advertisements, Jas also made his presence felt in films. He was seen in Hrithik Roshan’s film ‘Kaabil’ released in 2017. At an age when most children don’t even start thinking about their career, Jas was gaining experience of the camera and the film world. He had many opportunities to advance in the entertainment world, but his interest gradually started moving towards a completely different field.

Left acting and chose the path of computer science

Instead of moving forward in the world of showbiz, Jas Khetani made studies and technology his goal. Currently, he is studying Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Fairley Dickinson University, New Jersey, USA. With this he has chosen mathematics as a minor subject. Talking about his academic achievements, Jas’ GPA is said to be 3.97, which shows his dedication towards studies. Jas’s interest is not limited to just getting a degree. He is also working in areas like quantum computing, artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain and software development. He has special interest in emerging technologies like quantum computing. He also writes articles on this topic on the Medium platform and tries to understand its potential uses and future prospects.

Started his own company, also worked on robotics and software

At a young age, Jas has focused on gaining practical experience along with his studies. He is the founder of JAS i.e. Jas Automation Solutions. Under this initiative, their focus is on creating algorithm based solutions for businesses and making operations more effective with the help of digital technology. Apart from this, he also worked as an Undergraduate Technology Assistant in his university. During this time, he contributed in upgrading humanoid robots with the help of Python and machine learning. During his internship at a telecom system integrator, he developed Python based customer relationship management software. Agile methodology was used in this work. It is clear from these experiences that Jas is not just studying technology, but is also moving towards using it to solve real problems.

From Garba to martial arts, Jas is a master of many skills.

What makes Jas’s story special is not just his technical knowledge. His interests span many different fields. He has a special love for Garba and is also the founder of ‘A Halo’. Apart from this, he is also interested in activities like playing flute, martial arts and fire stick performance. He has also been associated with Rasleela Garba Academy as a trainer, where he has been instrumental in taking the traditional Garba dance to students from different parts of the world. His sister Kavyanshi Simaria had told about his extraordinary journey through an Instagram post on his brother’s birthday in May. He wrote that Jas worked in over 100 commercials and films, had a career that many people dream of, but he decided to walk away from it at the peak of his career. Referring to his different skills, the sister also told that Jas is interested in many fields simultaneously and does every work with full enthusiasm.

Memorized the entire book at the age of 11

Jas’s habit of learning and accepting challenges was visible since childhood. In the year 2017, when he was studying in sixth class, he participated in a training program organized under the leadership of Dharmesh Pithwa. During this, a challenge was set before him to memorize an entire book. The special thing was that he also had to remember the numbers of the pages of the book. Jas completed this challenge successfully. His trainer described him as the youngest participant to take part in the program. Today, while some child actors who were seen in advertisements with him are pursuing their careers in the entertainment world, Jas has made the world of science and technology his priority. Artists like Sara Arjun, who appeared with him in a McDonald’s advertisement, have made their mark in films today. Jas’s path is different from them.
