New Delhi: Rain activities have stopped in most of the states of the country, although there are many states where it is still raining. Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over South Peninsular India and very heavy rainfall over Kerala during next 24 hours. Heavy rain is likely to continue at some places in the northeastern states.

Monsoon is leaving from here

According to the Meteorological Department, conditions are favorable for withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, rest of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, most parts of Madhya Pradesh, entire Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and parts of Maharashtra during the next 48 hours.

87.4 percent rainfall in monsoon season

The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that this monsoon season (June-September), India received 87.4 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA) rainfall. IMD said that the normal rainfall during the monsoon season is 868.6 mm, but this year India received 759.4 mm of rainfall. The department also said the rainfall in the country this monsoon season was the fourth lowest since 2001. At present, there is about 13 percent rainfall deficit in the country between June 1 and September 30.

It may rain here

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during October 2-7. There may be rain in East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Central Maharashtra and Bengal during October 2-3.

There is a possibility of isolated thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha during October 2-3. During this period, winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 km/hour. At some places winds will blow at a speed of 50 km.

Orange alert in Kerala

At the same time, many parts of Kerala received rain on Thursday, which brought relief from the rising temperatures for weeks, while the IMD issued an orange alert in three districts. The weather department issued an orange alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts. The weather department also issued a yellow alert in six districts.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

The sky will be mainly clear in Delhi today. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to range between 33°C to 35°C and 21°C to 23°C respectively. The minimum temperature will be below normal at most places and the maximum temperature will be near normal at most places in Delhi. Winds can blow at a speed of 20 km during the day.
