The start date of ODI World Cup 2027 has been announced. ICC made it clear some time ago that next year’s World Cup cricket tournament will start from October 2 i.e. Gandhi Jayanti. A total of 57 matches will be played during the entire tournament. The big thing is that its final match will be played on 21st November. Meanwhile, everyone’s eyes were on which day the match between India and Pakistan would be played. This has also been announced by ICC. This great match will be played on Sunday, 10th October.

India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group for the World Cup. India and Pakistan are in Group A, along with them Afghanistan, Australia, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A will be in this group. Which team will be the Qualifier A will be revealed later. After this, if we talk about the second group, it will have teams from Bangladesh, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Qualifier B. The match between India and Pakistan will be played on 10 October.

World Cup Cricket will be hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia

The ICC Cricket World Cup will be hosted by three countries next year i.e. in 2027. This includes South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. However, most of the matches will be held in South Africa only. Now only one year i.e. 365 days are left for this tournament to start. At present, the defending champion is Australia, which won the 2023 ODI World Cup by defeating Team India. Now the struggle to win this title will start again from next year.

A total of 14 teams will participate, the tournament will start with a super series.

A total of 14 teams will participate in next year’s World Cup. However, only two teams will be out of the round. ICC had already told that out of these 14 teams, a super series will be organized between the three lowest ranked teams. In this, the bottom two teams will be eliminated and the team topping the points table will join the remaining 11 teams and in this way the main matches will be played between 12 teams. These 12 teams will be divided into two groups. The three teams that will be on top in their respective groups will go ahead, after which one more team will come, which will be apart from these six teams. They will be a team which was not in the top 3, but still their points are more than the rest of the bottom teams of this group. In this way Super 7 teams will be selected. In Super 7, all the teams will play one match against each other and after that the top 4 teams will go to the semi-finals.
