Condition is suffering due to heat in Delhi
Let us tell you that earlier on Monday also the people of Delhi were seen suffering from the heat early in the morning. Delhi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 31.1 degrees Celsius on Monday morning, which was equal to the previous day’s minimum temperature. Along with this, this was the highest minimum temperature recorded in the last 2 years. According to IMD, the minimum temperature was 3.2 degrees above normal like Sunday. The minimum temperature in Delhi was higher than this on June 14, 2024, when it was recorded at 33.3 degrees Celsius. Along with this, the Meteorological Department predicted the maximum temperature to be around 41 degrees Celsius.
What was the temperature today?
Talking about the capital Delhi, today the minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung station was 31.1 degrees Celsius. Among other stations, Lodhi Road recorded a minimum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius, 3.2 degrees above normal, while Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 29.7 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above normal. The temperature stood at 29.4 degrees Celsius in Aya Nagar and 28.4 degrees Celsius in Ridge, both places being above normal.
When will monsoon arrive in Delhi?
After several days of scorching heat and humidity, the southwest monsoon is expected to reach Delhi-NCR by July 4, bringing much relief to the people. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that weather conditions are favorable for the advance of monsoon towards northwest India in the next five to six days. The national capital has experienced prolonged heat and humid weather due to the late arrival of monsoon. On Monday, Delhi recorded one of the hottest mornings in almost two years, with the temperature remaining well above normal.
Due to rising temperature and high level of humidity in the air, the problems of the people in the city have increased considerably. According to IMD, if atmospheric conditions remain favourable, monsoon is likely to reach Delhi and parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and western Uttar Pradesh around July 4. Private weather forecasting agency Skymet has also predicted a similar timing for the arrival of monsoon in the national capital.
