Heavy rain warning in Bengal-Sikkim, roads submerged in Shimla, now monsoon will enter UP-Rajasthan

Monsoon has knocked in most of the states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and soon monsoon is going to enter Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan also. Due to this, it is raining heavily in most parts. IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain in all north-eastern states including West Bengal and Sikkim. There is also a risk of landslides due to continuous rain in these states. At the same time, due to heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla on Saturday afternoon, many roads and streets of the city were filled with water, due to which people had to face huge problems in transportation.

The maximum impact was seen in Dhali area, where three vehicles were buried due to debris falling in the drain after heavy rains. At the same time, rain water entered many houses, due to which the local people had to suffer losses.

It got dark at 4 pm

Traffic remained affected during the rains when schools closed and people returned home from offices. School children, working people and other passengers had to face problems for hours. Due to heavy clouds and rain, there was darkness in the city at around 4 pm. This heavy rain before the onset of monsoon also exposed the drainage system of the Municipal Corporation. Due to lack of drainage at many places, roads turned into ponds and vehicles were seen crawling.

Meteorological Department issued alert

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a fresh bulletin and issued a yellow alert of rain and thunderstorm for Chamba, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi and Sirmaur districts. According to the department, there is a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour during this period. The Meteorological Department says that the rainy season may continue in the state for the next seven days. There are chances of light rain in many areas from 26th to 30th June, while due to the strengthening of western disturbance on the night of 30th June, heavy rains are expected in the hilly areas of the state on 1st and 2nd July. During this period, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The administration and the weather department have appealed to tourists and local people to avoid going near rivers, streams, landslide-prone areas and hill slopes and take necessary precautions during bad weather.

Monsoon entry in UP soon

The Meteorological Department has said that monsoon has arrived in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, it has covered most parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar. Soon monsoon may knock in UP and Rajasthan also. However, even before the arrival of monsoon, the rainy season has started in most of the states. Due to the effect of western disturbance, it is raining in other states including Himachal.
