Red alert of heavy rain in 4 states, monsoon may knock in Chhattisgarh, heatwave alert issued in 5 states

India Meteorological Department has said that the conditions are favorable for the advance of Southwest Monsoon. Monsoon may advance into parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar around June 23. At the same time, it can knock in Chhattisgarh also. Monsoon has been stalled in Maharashtra and surrounding states for about 15 days. Due to the conditions becoming favorable for monsoon, there will be heavy rains in the north-eastern states till June 25. There are chances of heavy rain in Sikkim and North Bengal on Monday.

Heatwave conditions will persist in Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh for the next four to five days. There will be heat wave effect in Chhattisgarh for the next three days, in Telangana for the next two days and in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada also on Monday. Strong winds will blow in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan for the next 2 days. Along with this, lightning may strike. An alert has also been issued for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Monday. At the same time, there are chances of hailstorm in Jammu and Kashmir.

How was the weather in the last 24 hours?

Exceptionally heavy rainfall has been observed at some places in Meghalaya in the last 24 hours. West Bengal and Sikkim have received extremely heavy rainfall. At the same time, very heavy rainfall has also been recorded in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh. Heavy rainfall has also been recorded in Odisha and West Madhya Pradesh. Heatwave conditions persist in Vidarbha, East Uttar Pradesh and are likely to persist this week.

Monsoon may knock in Chhattisgarh

Around June 23, Southwest Monsoon may advance into parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar and parts of Chhattisgarh. IMD has issued red alert in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Bengal. Due to strong winds, lightning may strike in Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. Orange alert has been issued in all these states.

Where will the heat rise?

The maximum temperature in northwest India is likely to drop by about 2 degrees by June 22. After this, there may be an increase of two to 3 degrees during the next three days. There will be no significant change in the maximum temperature in Maharashtra till June 21. After this, there is a possibility of gradual drop in temperature by 2 to 3° centigrade. There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the rest of the country till June 27.

Heatwave alert in these states

Heatwave alert has been issued in parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There is a heat wave alert in Vidarbha even at night. Heavy rains will continue in Assam, West Bengal and Meghalaya. Dust storm may occur in Rajasthan. There may be light rain with strong winds in Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and there is a possibility of lightning.
