Railway Recruitment: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reviewed the RRB recruitment process today (Friday). Ashwini Vaishnav said that emphasis has been laid on greater transparency, accuracy and speedy completion of work in the recruitment processes. Now all departmental examinations will be conducted through CBT i.e. computer based examination. Railways will expand the scope of tablet-based testing.
43 thousand 781 people were given jobs in the last financial year
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the financial year 2025-26, 43 thousand 781 candidates were given jobs in Railways. Indian Railways has expedited recruitment through a systematic and technology-based process.
In the last financial year, Railways recruited 18 thousand 799 assistant loco pilots, 14 thousand 298 technicians and 1 thousand 376 paramedical staff. Candidates liked the vacancy information released under the annual recruitment calendar: Ashwini Vaishnav.
Emphasis on the need for technology-based system in railway recruitment
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav today held a high-level review meeting on the recruitment process of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) with senior officials of Indian Railways. He stressed the need for a more transparent, accurate and technology-based system.

Railways gave jobs in 6 major categories
Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘Indian Railways has accelerated the recruitment process in the financial year 2025-26 and has completed the recruitment process for 47 thousand 84 vacancies in 6 major categories and given jobs to 43,781 candidates. These include 18 thousand 799 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilot, 14 thousand 298 for Technician, 452 for Sub-Inspector, 4 thousand 208 for Constable, 7 thousand 951 for Junior Engineer (JE)/DMS/CMA and 1,376 vacancies for Paramedical category.
Examination is conducted in 15 languages
It was said in the press release that the recruitment process of Railway Recruitment Board is very complex and on a large scale, in which the exam is conducted in many cities and centers across India. This computer-based exam is conducted in multiple shifts to accommodate the large number of candidates. For the convenience of candidates with different linguistic backgrounds, this exam is conducted in 15 languages.
