Selling cylinder from warehouse is illegal
The Delhi government on Sunday announced to stop the sale of cylinders from warehouses. Delhi government wrote on its official social media account, “To make the LPG distribution system in Delhi more transparent and smooth, the government has imposed a complete ban on the sale of cylinders from warehouses.” Clear instructions have been given to all distributors that selling cylinders directly from the warehouse is illegal and strict action will be taken against any such activity.
Availability of 5 kg gas cylinder increased in Delhi
Delhi government wrote in its post, “Keeping in mind the convenience of consumers, the availability of 5 kg LPG cylinders has been increased across the city. Now these small cylinders can be easily obtained from gas agencies by showing valid identity card, it will not require address verification. In order to provide special facilities to the migrant workers, 11 dedicated help desks have also been set up at selected outlets of HPCL, where they are being provided information about the nearest LPG distributors. There is an appeal to the citizens to avoid any kind of rumor and cooperate with the administration by keeping faith in the established delivery system.
FTL cylinder can be purchased by showing just one ID
The Petroleum Ministry said on Sunday that from March 23 to April 4 (in 13 days), 6.6 lakh 5 kg cylinders have been sold. On April 4 alone, more than 90,000 FTL cylinders of 5 kg were sold. Small cylinders of 5 kg, called FTL (Free-Trade LPG) cylinders, can be easily purchased from the nearest gas agency with any ID proof. It is not necessary to provide proof of address to purchase this cylinder.
