‘Will work rapidly on the development of indigenous weapons and integration of the three armies’, General Subramani’s big statement after taking charge of CDS

General NS Raja Subramani, famous as an expert on Pakistan and China affairs, has taken charge as the new Chief of Defense Staff or CDS of India today (Sunday). He has been given the primary responsibility of implementing the ambitious Military Theaterisation Plan and strengthening coordination between the three services. General NS Raja Subramani has replaced General Anil Chauhan, who stepped down on Saturday after completing his tenure as the country’s supreme military commander.

Focus will be on increasing coordination between the three armies

Let us tell you that General Subramani was working as a military advisor in the National Security Council Secretariat. General Subramani retired from the post of Army Deputy Chief on July 31 last year. Soon after assuming charge as CDS, General Subramani said that transformation of the armed forces, organizational reforms to enhance coordination and integration between the three services would be his primary targets.

Emphasis will be on indigenous weapons

CDS General Subramani also said, ‘We will work rapidly towards the development of indigenous weapon systems in our armed forces, their induction and integration of the forces. Our forces have consistently demonstrated professionalism and decisiveness in safeguarding national interests. We are committed to maintaining the sovereignty of our India and protecting the territorial integrity.

Will serve the country with dedication and courage

General Subramani further said, ‘I want to assure the citizens of India that the armed forces will continue to serve the country with dedication, courage, honor and professionalism.’

CDS has experience in different types of conflicts and terrains

In his career spanning over 40 years, General Subramani has served in a variety of conflicts and terrains. Also, has held many positions related to command, staff and training. General Subramani has served as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff from July 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025 and as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command from March 2023 to June 2024.
