New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi while participating in the discussion on bills related to women’s reservation in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Describing PM Modi as the ‘biggest feminist’, he praised the government’s policies regarding women’s empowerment. Referring to the famous dialogue of Bollywood’s famous film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, Kangana Ranaut said, ‘The government has told the daughters and women of the country, all the cages are broken, all the walls are broken, go live your life.’
‘Should such important issues be kept pending any longer?’
Kangana was speaking during the discussion on the Constitution (131st) Amendment Bill 2026 (Women’s Reservation Act), Delimitation Bill 2026 and Union Territory Laws (Amendment) Bill 2026. Taking aim at the Congress, he said that the opposition party kept issues like women’s reservation pending for a long time during its rule. Kangana said that Congress leaders raise questions as to why the government is in such a hurry, but she retorted and asked whether such important issues should be kept pending further?
‘There is only one woman MLA out of 68 seats in Himachal’
Kangana, MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, said that Prime Minister Modi is working fast to provide justice to women and what could not be done in 60 years, he has done in 10 years. He also targeted Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and said that democracy is not in danger during the tenure of Prime Minister Modi. He said that in India, except politics, women are not lagging behind in other fields, but their participation in politics is less. Giving an example, he said that out of 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh, there is only one woman MLA, whereas in other states also only about 8-9 percent are women MLAs.
‘When something good happens, rats start running in the stomach of Congress’
Describing the Women’s Reservation Bill as a historic step, Kangana said that this has been possible only under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that when something good happens in the country, ‘rats start running in its stomach’. Referring to the old statements of some leaders of Trinamool Congress, Congress and Samajwadi Party, he said that this clearly reflects their thinking towards women. Kangana also said that when she entered politics, a leader had made objectionable comments on her poster.
