Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 this year. At the same time, August 28 will be the last day of the yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has given this information. He told that devotees can register by visiting the branches of Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Axis Bank. Registration for this will start from April 15. Minimum age of 13 years is required to participate in this journey. Elderly people above 70 years of age will also not be included in this yatra.
Manoj Sinha said that the pilgrimage to Amarnath cave temple located in South Kashmir will start from July 3 and will conclude after 57 days on August 28. The Lieutenant Governor told reporters at Lok Bhawan that devotees in the age group of 13 to 70 years will be able to travel and registration will start from April 15. The decision on the dates of the yatra was taken in the meeting of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) chaired by Manoj Sinha. Sinha said, “Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 and end on August 28. This time the duration of the Yatra will be a little more than previous years, about 57 days.”
Registration will start from 15th April
Manoj Sinha said that registration for the yatra will be mandatory and it will be started from April 15. The minimum age for devotees has been fixed at 13 years and maximum age at 70 years. Sinha said, “Advance registration can be done through about 556 designated bank branches across the country, while the facility of online registration will also be available through the official website of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.”
How to register?
The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir informed that Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Axis Bank will provide the facility of registration through their branches. The Lieutenant Governor said that the first puja will be performed on June 19 on the occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima. He informed that the yatra will be conducted through two routes. First – the traditional 48 km long Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and second – the comparatively shorter 14 km long, but steeper Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
