Thieves exposed their hands during Rath Yatra in Puri, police arrested 103 till now, recovered 203 mobiles

Odisha Lakhs of devotees and tourists reached Shri Jagannath Dham during the Rath Yatra in Puri. In view of such a large crowd, Puri Police had made strict security arrangements. Under this, a special anti-snatching campaign was launched to stop incidents like snatching, pickpocketing and theft. Puri Police has achieved great success during this campaign. The police have so far arrested 103 snatchers while uncovering the thefts that took place during this period. 203 stolen mobile phones have also been recovered from them. Police say that after the completion of the legal process, these mobiles will be handed back to their real owners.

Police team kept monitoring

According to the information, during the Rath Yatra, police from different police station areas, special anti-snatching team and policemen deployed in civil dress together kept a constant vigil. Special surveillance was kept on suspicious people in crowded areas, which helped a lot in preventing incidents of snatching. As part of the security arrangements, special surveillance was kept on the Grand Road, the area around Shri Jagannath Temple, beaches, bus stands, railway stations, parking lots and other crowded public places. The police remained on duty round the clock at these places and kept an eye on suspicious activities.

The accused accused of theft were arrested

Anti-snatching teams, with the help of CCTV camera monitoring, intelligence inputs and modern investigative techniques, identified the accused and arrested them in time. Due to this, the incidents of snatching during the Rath Yatra could be controlled to a great extent. Recovering stolen mobile phones and reaching the accused is a major achievement of this campaign. This will not only help people get their property back, but will also ensure strict action against those who commit such crimes.

Police appealed to the common people

Puri Police always appeals to the devotees and tourists to take special care of their mobile phones, purses, gold jewelery and other valuables in crowded places. If any suspicious person is seen or any incident like snatching takes place, immediately inform the nearby policeman or police control room. Puri Police has clarified that the safety of devotees and tourists is its top priority.
