Maharashtra Cyber has again summoned rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh. He has been asked to appear before the investigating officer on October 16 for questioning in the case of making objectionable remarks during a concert. This case is related to the complaint lodged after a video of Honey Singh’s performance in Delhi went viral on social media. The singer had said obscene things in the video clip, after which the complainant contacted Maharashtra Cyber. Honey Singh’s objectionable remarks had created a stir on social media, after which Maharashtra Cyber took this step.
Maharashtra Cyber again sent summons to Honey Singh
According to the information of officials, Honey Singh was summoned thrice earlier also, but he did not appear and said that he was abroad. He was called for questioning at the Maharashtra Cyber Office in Mumbai’s World Trade Center on October 5, but did not turn up and instead sought more time. A senior official of Maharashtra Cyber said that now a new summons has been issued for October 16. The official said that if the rapper does not appear again, the agency can initiate the process of issuing a ‘look-out circular’ (LOC) against him to prevent him from leaving the country.
Honey Singh’s troubles increased
Maharashtra Cyber had earlier termed the October 5 summons as a ‘final reminder’ and said that if they continued to avoid questioning, they would approach the court for arrest warrant. The complaint is still under investigation. In such a situation, if he does not appear this time too, then the process of issuing Look-Out Circular (LOC) can be started by the authorities to stop him from leaving the country. Earlier, Maharashtra Cyber had issued summons to him for questioning and he was asked to appear before the investigating officer on October 05. However, Honey Singh did not appear before Maharashtra Cyber officials on time and has sought additional time from the investigating agency for questioning.
Honey Singh has an old connection with controversies
This is not the first time that this singer’s name has been linked to some controversy. Earlier in May, Delhi High Court had directed Honey Singh to file an affidavit. The direction was given on a petition by an organization named ‘Hindu Shakti Dal’, which alleged that the singer had sung an objectionable song during her performance at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in 2025. On April 2, the Delhi High Court directed the Central Government to remove the URLs of Honey Singh’s song ‘Volume 1’ from all social media and sharing platforms.
