OTT platform Netflix has released the explosive trailer of its upcoming military drama series ‘Operation Safed Sagar’. The series is based on the historic and extremely challenging air mission conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) during the Kargil War of 1999. The important role of the Air Force in this war fought in high mountains and adverse conditions has been brought on screen with grandeur like a big screen. The story mainly revolves around the famous ‘Golden Arrows Squadron’ of the Air Force and the young fighter pilots who risked their lives to protect the country. This series has been prepared after extensive research and long conversations with retired Indian Air Force officers and war heroes.
Shooting took place with real military bases and fighter jets
The makers have left no stone unturned to make the series appear authentic and real. ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ has been shot at real Indian Air Force bases, where the crew got special permission to use real fighter aircraft and military infrastructure. Many important scenes have been shot in high altitude mountainous areas to accurately depict the real scenes and hardships of the war. At the center of the story is the ‘Golden Arrows Squadron’, led by Wing Commander B.S. Dhanoa ‘Tony’ (Jimmy Shergill) and Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja (Siddharth). Along with these, Flying Officer RS Dhaliwal (Abhay Verma), Flying Officer C.H. Young warriors like Bal Reddy (Mihir Ahuja), Flight Lieutenant Jitendra Sangwan (Taruk Raina) and Flying Officer Amit Gupta (Arnav Bhasin) carry out dangerous missions for the country. This series not only shows the battlefield but also beautifully captures the mental and emotional struggle of the families of the pilots and wives of Air Force officers.

This ambitious project has received special guidance from Air Chief Marshal (retd) BS Dhanoa, former chief of the Indian Air Force. Directed by Oni Sen, this series is jointly produced by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava. The film’s producers include Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil of Matchbox Shots and Mehboob Pal Singh Brar of Feel Good Films. Apart from Jimmy Shergill, Siddharth and Abhay Verma, great actors like Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Adil Hussain, Mihir Ahuja, Taruk Raina and Amrita Bagchi are going to be seen in the lead roles in the series. This military drama series ‘Operation Safed Sagar’, full of patriotism and courage, will be streamed on Netflix on August 7, just before the Independence Day.
