Infosys gets new boss, Ashish Kumar Dash will be the new CEO and MD; Will hold the chair from April 1, 2027

The country’s leading IT company Infosys has decided to make a major change in its leadership. The company has announced the appointment of Ashish Kumar Dash as the new CEO-designate. The Board of Directors took this decision on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Ashish Kumar Dash will hold the responsibility of CEO-designate from now on and will take over as CEO and Managing Director (MD) of the company from April 1, 2027. However, necessary statutory approvals are yet to be received for this.

According to the company, Ashish Kumar Dash will serve as CEO-designate till March 31, 2027. After this he will officially take charge of the company. Infosys has also clarified that there is no bar against him from becoming a director from SEBI or any other regulatory body.

Who is Ashish Kumar Dash?

Ashish Kumar Dash is currently the Executive Vice President at Infosys. He is leading the company’s Services, Utilities, Resources, Energy and Enterprise Sustainability businesses. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of digital transformation. He has represented Infosys at several global forums on topics such as energy transition and sustainable development. He has also been associated with international forums such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance and the B20 Summit 2023.

Studied from IIT Kharagpur and Stanford

Ashish Kumar Dash has studied engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Apart from this, he has also completed the Global Leadership Program of Stanford University. Currently, he is working in Los Angeles, USA and is responsible for many global businesses of Infosys.

The board also approved giving RSU

Along with the leadership change, Infosys’ board has also approved the issuance of 9,836 Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) to new employees. These shares will be given from August 1, 2026 and will be given to the employees in a phased manner over three years. Overall, this decision of Infosys is considered important keeping in mind the company’s future strategy and global expansion. Now investors and the IT sector will keep an eye on how the company reaches new heights in the coming years under the leadership of Ashish Kumar Dash.
