Team India won with Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stormy half-century, defeated Zimbabwe by 7 wickets in the first T20I.

Leaving behind the disappointing defeats on the tour of Ireland and England, Team India has started the Zimbabwe tour with a bang. The Indian cricket team has defeated Zimbabwe by 7 wickets in the first T20I. In this way, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series. 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi had an important contribution in this spectacular victory of Team India, who not only laid the foundation of the Indian team’s victory by scoring a stormy half-century, but also silenced the critics. Vaibhav completed his half-century in 18 balls. He hit 4 fours and 4 skyscraper sixes in his half-century innings. Vaibhav also created a new history in international cricket with this century. He has now become the youngest batsman to score a half-century in international cricket.

Zimbabwe gave the target of 126 runs

In this first T20I match played in Harare, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, the host Zimbabwe team scored 125 runs on the scoreboard after losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For Zimbabwe, Wesley Madhevere scored the highest score of 39 runs. Whereas, wicketkeeper-batsman Tadivanashe Marumani contributed 27 runs and returned unbeaten. Ryan Burl played an inning of 26 runs. Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav did wonders in bowling for Team India and took 2-2 wickets. Shivam Dubey and Ravi Bishnoi got 1 success each. Debutant Ashok Sharma could not take even a single wicket.

Half century from Vaibhav’s bat

In response to Zimbabwe’s 125 runs, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma together started the Indian innings in a stormy manner. However, Abhishek Sharma returned to the pavilion in the third over after scoring just 1 run, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued to target the bowlers with his very first ball. Vaibhav thrashed the Zimbabwean bowlers and finally achieved the great feat of completing his first half-century in international cricket.

First win under Iyer’s captaincy

By the time Vaibhav Suryavanshi returned to the pavilion after scoring 50 runs in the 7th over, Team India had put 68 runs on the scoreboard. After this, Ishan Kishan took the lead along with captain Shreyas Iyer and took the team’s score beyond 100 runs. When Ishan Kishan was out after scoring 35 runs in the 12th over, Team India had turned the match in its favor. Vice-captain Tilak Verma played the winning shot on the second ball of the 14th over and gave the Indian team a resounding victory by 7 wickets. In this way, Iyer got his first win under his captaincy after 7 matches.
