In the Ranji Trophy, Saurashtra’s left-arm spinner Parth Bhutt showed such magic of his spin that Assam’s batsmen kept returning to the pavilion one after the other. Parth took eight wickets for just 17 runs and with this created a new record for Saurashtra’s best bowling performance in Ranji Trophy. Thanks to his lethal bowling, Saurashtra defeated Assam by an innings and won 7 points.

Parth Bhutt performed brilliantly in the match against Assam on Thursday and played an important role in Saurashtra’s victory. This left arm spinner did not give the opposition batsmen a chance to play freely with his brilliant bowling. Assam’s batting completely disintegrated in front of their bowling. With this performance, Parth made the record of best bowling in a single innings of Ranji Trophy for Saurashtra.

5 wicket haul in second consecutive match

This achievement is also special for 29-year-old Parth because he has been successful in taking five wickets for the second consecutive match. Earlier, he had also taken five wickets in the second innings of the last match against Karnataka. Parth has presented a great example of his form and ability by bowling brilliantly in two consecutive matches.

It is noteworthy that Parth Bhutt’s performance in first class cricket is continuously improving. In 25 matches of his career, he has so far achieved the feat of taking five or more wickets in an innings 9 times. The eight-wicket performance against Assam has become one of the memorable achievements of his career.

Parth joins Jaydev Unadkat’s special club

Parth Bhutt has also become the second bowler for Saurashtra to take eight wickets in an innings of Ranji Trophy. Before him, this feat was done by team captain Jaydev Unadkat. Unadkat took eight wickets for 39 runs against Delhi in January 2023. Now Parth has registered his name in this list by taking 8 wickets for 17 runs. His figures were even better than Unadkat.
