IPL 2026 Points Table: Gujarat Titans have made a great comeback in IPL 2026 and have made a big jump in the points table. While on one hand Shubhman Gill’s strong batting led the team to victory, on the other hand the condition of Kolkata Knight Riders is continuously worsening. In the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans registered their third win of the season by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets. Chasing the target of 180 runs, Gujarat won the match by losing 5 wickets in 19.4 overs. The hero of this victory was captain Shubman Gill, who played a brilliant inning of 86 runs in 50 balls and scored his third consecutive half-century.

Changes in points table

With this win, Gujarat Titans now have 6 points from 5 matches and the team has taken a huge leap and occupied the fourth position in the points table. On the basis of its third consecutive win, Gujarat has also presented its strong claim in the race for the playoffs. On the other hand, the troubles of Kolkata Knight Riders are increasing. The team has lost 5 out of 6 matches played so far and remains at the bottom i.e. 10th position in the points table.

Talking about the top-5 teams in the points table, Punjab Kings is at the first position. While Royal Challengers Bangalore is at second, Rajasthan Royals is at third. After the hat-trick of wins, GT has moved from sixth to fourth position. At the same time, after Gujarat’s victory, SRH has slipped to 5th while Delhi has slipped to 6th. Lucknow is at 7th position and CSK is at 8th position. MI is at 9th while KKR is at the last position.

Cameron Green’s innings went in vain

Talking about the match, Kolkata, batting first, scored 180 runs losing 10 wickets in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, Cameron Green played a brilliant inning of 79 runs in 55 balls, but he did not get much support from other batsmen. The team lost 3 wickets in the powerplay itself and in the end the last 6 wickets fell within just 33 runs. For Gujarat, Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets, while Mohammad Siraj and Ashok Sharma took 2 wickets each.

In reply, Gujarat Titans made a solid start. There was a half-century partnership between Sai Sudarshan and Shubhman Gill, which gave a strong base to the team. After this the team achieved the target without coming under much pressure. Gill’s captaincy innings made the victory easy. Overall, while Gujarat Titans have reached the top-4 with a hat-trick of wins, every match has now become do or die for Kolkata Knight Riders.
