Nagpur: On one hand, Delhi Police has given its clarification in a press conference on the death of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke’s grandmother, while on the other hand, Abhijit Dipke has made serious allegations against Delhi Police.
What did Abhijeet Dipke say?
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in Nagpur, said, “Delhi Police came and told me that my grandmother had passed away. Then I asked the Delhi Police to let me call my cousin who lives in the village; I requested them to bring my phone just for two minutes. They refused, saying they could not bring the phone and asked me to give them the number.”
Dipke said, “I told them that I did not remember the number and asked them to give me the phone just for two minutes so that I could take out the number and give it to them. Even then, they did not give me the phone. According to the law, I also have the right to call my lawyer. Delhi Police did not allow this either. They did not let me call my lawyer. At 3:30 in the morning, Delhi Police came and told me to call my parents and tell them that I was arrested. What was the purpose behind this? To wake me up at 3:30 in the morning and ask me to call my parents to tell them that I have been arrested?”
Dipke said, “I asked them why they didn’t tell my parents the whole day that I had been arrested or where I was being held. Why didn’t you tell them during the day? Why are you telling me this at 3:30 in the morning? Why didn’t you wait till the morning? They insisted that this is a legal process. What kind of legal process is this to call someone’s parents at 3:30 in the morning and tell them that their son has been arrested?”
These goons of Delhi Police wanted me to call my parents at 3:30 in the morning: Deepke
Dipke said, “These goons of Delhi Police wanted me to call my parents at 3:30 in the morning and shock them with the news that I have been arrested. They have no humanity at all. They are goons in uniform, uniformed goons and Amit Shah has turned them into such goons. I have not signed any bond. We will take to the streets again. We will fight with people like Amit Shah and Modi. Not afraid.”
What did Abhijeet Dipke’s father Bhagwan Dipke say?
Abhijeet Dipke’s father Bhagwan Dipke said in Hingoli, “If they (Delhi Police) had released him on time or on the condition that he has to come back to Delhi after the last rites, he could have definitely come to see his grandmother. I just saw on Instagram that he has reached Nagpur. The police made a mistake. They should not have disclosed things which should not have been disclosed and even if they did, they should have given him time to have the last rites of his grandmother.”
What did mother Anita say?
Anita Dipke, Abhijeet’s mother in Hingoli, said, “They (Delhi Police) should have let him go earlier. In fact, he was supposed to reach here from Mumbai last night itself. He was supposed to come straight here for his grandmother’s funeral. If they had released him yesterday itself, he would have been able to attend his grandmother’s funeral. Given such a tragic incident, Delhi Police could have shown some leniency and let him go; that would have given us relief.”
Earlier news had come out that Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were released by the court. (Input- ANI)
