Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, while addressing an event organized by a media house in Delhi on Monday, had said that “Shiva is the God of the poor, Ram is the God of the rich and BJP is the party of the rich.” Launching a sharp attack on Revanth Reddy’s remarks comparing Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Tuesday alleged that the Congress has “left no stone unturned” in dividing the Hindu society and Reddy’s statement is against Hindus. This is a highly condemnable attack on faith.
BJP stole Ram, VHP responded
Revanth Reddy also said that the Congress is successful only in the South but struggles in the Northern states because “BJP has stolen Lord Ram, who is worshiped in the North, while Shiva is worshiped in the Southern states.” Responding to his comments, VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal alleged that following the British policy of “divide and rule”, Congress has in the last 76 years divided the Hindu society on the basis of caste, creed, sect, language and region. Bansal accused Congress
Bansal further said, no one had imagined that as the last passengers of the sinking ship of Congress, the party leaders would stoop so low that they would start dividing even the Hindu Gods and Goddesses. He alleged that calling Ram the god of the rich and Bholenath the god of the poor is an attempt to divide Hindu gods and goddesses. Bansal also targeted Congress leaders over their old statements on issues related to Hindu faith.

He questioned what the Hindu society could expect from the Congress in such circumstances. Bansal also referred to Reddy’s alleged statement in which he had said: “Congress means Muslims and Muslims means Congress.” But it was not understood why those who were talking about destroying Sanatan suddenly started chanting devotion to Shiva! The Congress high command should clarify whether you will apologize for this worst attack on Hindu faith for Jihadi appeasement or not?
