The first unofficial test match is being played between India U19 and Australia U19 at Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. On the second day of this match, he scored unbeaten 210 runs with the help of 20 fours and 4 sixes in just 256 balls. Lakshya Raichandani has created history by scoring a double century in Rajkot. He has become the first young cricketer in the world to score two double centuries in youth test matches. Earlier, this right-handed batsman had played a brilliant innings of 207 runs while playing in Galle during the Sri Lanka tour, and after that he had also scored a century in Colombo. Now he has created a new history by scoring a century against Australia.
Raichandani has also scored a century in ODI against Australia
17-year-old Raichandani, who scored an unbeaten 110 in the third Youth ODI against Australia earlier this month, batted brilliantly in the Test format as well and maintained his good form. After opener Sagar Virk was out for just 11 runs, Raichandani batted composedly throughout the day. Wickets kept falling from the other end, yet they did not let the Australian bowlers dominate them. He remained unbeaten till the end of the day.
Raichandani made a good partnership with the other batsmen
Raichandani got excellent support from captain Yashvardhan Chauhan (54 runs) and Mohit Ulva (58 not out). Raichandani and Mohit have so far made a partnership of 137 runs for the 9th wicket. Earlier, he had also made a strong partnership of 124 runs with Chauhan at number three. Now on the third day of the test match, Raichandani would like to extend his innings further and will also try to score a triple century.
Earlier in the match, while batting, the entire Australian team was reduced to 217 runs, in which Blake Cattle scored the highest 102 runs. In India’s bowling, left-arm spinner Ishan Om performed brilliantly, taking 5 wickets for 53 runs, while Mohit Ulva also dismissed 3 players for 37 runs.
