The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain, storm and thunderstorm in many parts of the country today, 24 September. The weather may worsen from Delhi-NCR to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
According to the Meteorological Department, the speed of strong winds can reach 70 to 75 kilometers per hour in some areas. In such a situation, people have been advised to take special precautions during bad weather. There is also a danger of thunder and lightning in many parts of Eastern India.
Rain and storm alert in Delhi-UP
country’s capital Delhi Today i.e. between 24th and 26th September, a period of rain and strong winds can be seen. Today the wind speed is expected to be around 25 to 30 kilometers per hour.
There is a possibility of thunderstorm with rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The weather may remain bad in many districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Sultanpur, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Ballia, Rae Bareli and Sonbhadra. At some places, winds can reach a speed of 60 to 65 kilometers per hour.
Weather will worsen in Bihar-Jharkhand also
There is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of Bihar including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Supaul and Araria.
At the same time, there is an alert of rain and strong winds in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh and Giridih of Jharkhand.
Danger of landslides with rain in the mountains
With heavy rains in many districts of Uttarakhand, the risk of landslides in hilly areas may increase.
There is also a warning of heavy rain and winds in Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Solan of Himachal Pradesh.
There is a possibility of rain with thunder in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Winds at speed of 75 KM in Andhra-Odisha
Heavy rains and strong winds may occur in many areas of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Wind speed is likely to reach 70 to 75 kilometers per hour in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. In view of the bad weather in the sea, fishermen have been advised to exercise caution.
