Kerala Exit Poll: BJP in the role of ‘kingmaker’ in a tough contest, close contest between UDF and LDF

Thiruvananthapuram: The exit poll of ‘Today’s Chanakya’ regarding Kerala Assembly elections has revealed an interesting picture regarding the politics of the state. According to this survey, there is a very close contest between the Congress-led UDF and the ruling LDF, while the Bharatiya Janata Party can be seen in the role of kingmaker in the state. Exit polls say that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) may get 64 seats and the United Democratic Front (UDF) may get 69 seats. BJP is predicted to get 7 seats, while other parties are predicted to not get even a single seat.

Different estimates in other exit polls also

Let us tell you that different estimates have been made in different exit polls regarding Kerala. The exit poll of ‘Materize’ has predicted that UDF will get a clear majority. According to this, UDF may get 70-75 seats, while LDF is likely to get 60-65 seats. Whereas BJP led NDA may get only 3-5 seats and others may get 2-4 seats. Vote share has also been estimated in this survey, in which UDF may get 41.7% votes, LDF 39.5%, NDA 13.4% and others may get 5.4% votes.

Election environment and signals from other states

Different trends have also been seen in the exit polls of many states of the country. There are signs of better performance of BJP in West Bengal and formation of government for the third consecutive time in Assam, while in Kerala, Congress-led UDF seems to be returning to power. Let us tell you that assembly elections were held in 5 states of the country between April 9 and April 29. Voting took place in one phase in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry, while voting took place in two phases in West Bengal. The special thing about these elections was that the highest turnout of any state was recorded in Bengal after independence.
