New Delhi: Ebola virus cases are increasing rapidly. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared it the world’s biggest health emergency. The outbreak of this virus is being seen most in the African continent.
It is a matter of relief that not a single case of Ebola virus has been reported in India so far. However, as a precaution, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has issued strict guidelines and passenger advisory for passengers coming from countries where the disease is spreading rapidly. These mainly include countries like South Sudan and Uganda.
Airport screening and surveillance
In view of the continuously worsening conditions in Africa, thermal screening and strict monitoring of passengers coming from abroad has been started at Delhi Airport. Since many people are unaware of this infection and its dangers, both awareness and checking at airports have been increased.

Initial symptoms are similar to Corona
The symptoms of Ebola virus are very similar to those of Corona virus. Fever, weakness, vomiting, headache etc… which people mistake for normal flu.
Appeal to keep surveillance for 21 days
Travelers are being requested to immediately inform the health department if they experience any of the above symptoms within 21 days of returning from the affected countries. So that if there is such a case, it can be given immediate treatment and the spread of this disease can also be prevented.
