‘Work for Rs 1 and do publicity for Rs 10, this is the rule of politics’, Nitin Gadkari said in Nagpur.

Nagpur: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, while addressing the two-day Jal Kranti Parishad organized in Nagpur, described water conservation and water management as the key to the prosperity of villages. He said that it is necessary to stop village water in the village, farm water in the fields and household water in the house. During his address, he said that the rule of politics is to work for one rupee and do publicity for 10 rupees. We did work for Rs 10 but did not give publicity even for a single rupee.

Emphasis laid on the need for water conservation

The prosperity of the village depends on these three things: stopping the water, storing it and allowing it to seep into the ground as it flows. Water is life and only water can change the life of village, poor, laborer and farmer.

Work done for Rs 10, no publicity even for Rs 1

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that his friends say that they do not know that you are doing this work. Actually, the rule of politics is to do work for Rs 1 and publicity for Rs 10. But here we worked for Rs 10, we did not give information even of Rs 1. This was our shortcoming. Gadkari said that with the dedicated feeling that water is life, keeping it positive and continuous, Purti Sinchan Samridhi Kalyankari Sanstha has dedicatedly done the work of water conservation and groundwater recharge for the last 25 years.

Mentioned about India-Pakistan water sharing

Nitin Gadkari mentioned India and Pakistan in his address and said that after partition, India got three rivers, Pakistan got three rivers, the water of our rights is going to Pakistan, so I asked the officials why not stop the water. Water is our right. I said stop this water, called the Chief Ministers of Punjab, Haryana and Kashmir and I said there is no need to fight. There is so much water lying there, which is going to Pakistan, then I diverted that water by taking the signature of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Haryana and Kashmir. With this, water will be provided to eight districts of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.

Only water can change the life of a farmer: Gadkari
