There was heavy rain in Dhanaulti area of ​​Tehri district in Uttarakhand on Friday. After this, water and debris entered many shops and houses in Billondi Pul Bazaar while a state minister and an MLA also remained stranded for more than an hour due to the blockage of Nagun-Bhawan-Dehradun Highway.

Minister and MLA’s vehicles remained stuck for 1 hour

There was sudden heavy rain in the afternoon in Naughar village of Dhanaulti tehsil due to which the water level of Algaad river also increased. Rain water flooded shops and houses in Bilundi Pul market. Due to accumulation of huge amount of debris on the road, Nagun-Bhawan-Dehradun State Highway remained blocked for a long time, due to which the vehicles of state cabinet minister Bharat Singh Choudhary and Dhanaulti MLA Pritam Singh Panwar, who were passing through the route, got stuck there for about an hour.

Revenue sub-inspector Ambuj Chaudhary, who reached the spot after receiving information about water entering the shops of Biloundi Pul market, said that between 3-4 pm there was heavy rain in the area and during this time the rain water entered the shops along with the debris. Choudhary said that traffic was blocked due to filling of water and debris on Nagun-Bhawan-Dehradun road, which was smoothened by removing the debris with JCB machine.

Minister was going to Dehradun after visiting Uttarkashi

Sub-Collector Neelu Chawla said that rain water and debris entered about 10 shops near Bilodi. Choudhary and Panwar, who were passing through Bilodi bridge, remained stranded for more than an hour due to debris filling the road. Cabinet Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary was going to Dehradun after visiting Uttarkashi.
