CM Himanta’s first statement after the end of voting in Assam, told how many seats NDA can win

Voting for the assembly elections ended in Assam on Thursday, April 9. There was tremendous enthusiasm among the people regarding voting in the state. The Election Commission has informed that more than 85 percent people voted in Assam today. However, these are preliminary figures, so when the final data comes, this figure may increase slightly. Let us tell you that earlier in the 2021 assembly elections in Assam, 82.5 percent voting took place. Now after the end of voting in Assam, the Chief Minister of the state Himanta Vishwa Sharma has given a statement. He has said that the BJP led NDA alliance can reach triple digits i.e. more than 100 seats in Assam.

What did CM Himanta say?

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said, “The voting percentage in the Muslim community of Bangladeshi origin used to be 95 to 96 per cent, while in the rest of the society in Assam it was around 75-76 per cent. This time there was a tough fight between the two communities, and I think the overall voting percentage will be around 86-87 per cent. The societies which traditionally actively participated in voting have certainly voted in higher numbers, but the societies which traditionally have less Voting takes place, they have also participated enthusiastically this time. It is not appropriate to talk about the election results now, but it will not be surprising if the BJP-led alliance reaches triple digits.”

The public voted against the infiltrators- CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said, “As per my initial assessment, our ally, the AGP (Assam Gana Parishad), has already won, or is on the verge of winning, two Muslim-dominated seats. The BJP has also given a tough fight to one Muslim-dominated seat. We are contesting for that seat. We may win that seat and lose it by a margin of a few thousand votes. Overall, women and youth have voted for the identity of Assam, Have voted against the infiltrators, and this time the public has cast their vote to preserve the culture of Assam.”

Let us tell you that voting has been completed on all 126 assembly seats of Assam in a single phase on April 9. The results of Assam elections will be released on May 4. The majority figure in the state is 64 seats.
