Ingredients to make Jowar Dosa:

Jowar flour one cup, upma rava four tablespoons, rice flour four tablespoons, salt as per taste, black pepper half teaspoon, green chilli 2, cumin half teaspoon, water three cups.

How to make jowar dosa?

  • To make the batter for jowar dosa, add jowar flour, rava, rice flour, salt, black pepper, chopped green chillies, chopped curry leaves and cumin seeds in a large bowl. Mix everything well. Jowar does not contain gluten, so the rava and rice flour give it texture and crunch.

  • Now add 2 cups of water and mix well to form a lump-free batter. Add 1 cup more water to make a thin and easily spreadable batter. Cover and keep the batter aside for 10 minutes.

  • To cook the dosa, heat a non-stick pan over high heat. While making jowar dosa, keep in mind that the pan should be non-stick, dosa will chip on a normal pan.

  • When the pan is hot, pour the batter in a circular motion starting from the edges. The batter will spread on its own and form a lattice-like pattern. For this dosa, the pan needs to be very hot.

  • Cook the dosa on high flame for 1-2 minutes, then reduce the flame. Drizzle a little ghee on the sides and cook for 5-6 minutes or until the holes and edges of the lattice become golden and crisp.

  • Remove the dosa from the pan and serve hot with green coconut chutney.
