Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is now in the headlines for his upcoming horror comedy film ‘Bhoot Bangla’, which is going to be released in theaters soon. The trailer of the film has been released just a few days ago, after watching which the excitement about it has increased among the audience. There is a huge buzz among the audience about this horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar and now ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has also got the green signal from the Censor Board (CBFC). The film has been given U/A 16+ certificate by the Censor Board. This means that children below 16 years of age can now watch this film only with their parents. Furthermore, before issuing the certificate to the film, the Censor Board had requested the producers to make certain changes in the film, which the producers agreed to implement.
Major changes made by the Censor Board
The Censor Board had ordered the makers of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ to make some changes in the film. CBFC had given instructions to change or remove some abusive words and abuses used in the film. Apart from this, the board had also raised objection regarding a derogatory comment towards women and had given instructions to make changes in it. Instructions were also given to add a disclaimer for all those scenes of the film, which included religious themes or superstition. Subsequently, the Censor Board had also requested to remove some specific scenes from the film. After the makers followed all these conditions, the Censor Board has given the green signal to the film.
Bhoot Bangla Runtime
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, even after getting the certificate from the censor board, the makers have been asked to remove some scenes. Not just one or two, a total of 63 scenes have been removed from the film. The most significant cut was a scene from the song ‘O Sundari’, which was a full 1 minute 12 seconds long. Apart from this, a 27-second scene has also been cut from the song ‘O Re O Saawariya’. After all these cuts, the duration of the film was reduced by 10 minutes 5 seconds and now the runtime of the film is 2 hours 44 minutes 52 seconds.
Bhoot Bangla release date
‘Bhoot Bangla’ is scheduled to release in theaters on April 17, 2026. Paid preview shows will start from 9:00 pm on 16th April. This horror-comedy has been directed by Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar will be seen in the lead role in the film. Apart from them, actors like Vamika Gabbi, Asrani, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Tabu will also be seen in important roles in Bhoot Bangla.
