Big plan of Railways! High speed Vande Metro will soon replace local trains, will change the lifeline of cities

Crores of people travel by local and passenger trains every day in the country. Now to make their journey faster, comfortable and safe, Indian Railways is going to start a new era, where crores of passengers traveling daily are going to get rid of old, noisy and slow local trains. Railways is preparing to launch semi-high speed Vande Metro trains soon, which can completely change the experience of traveling between cities.

According to the Railway Board, the prototype of Vande Metro has been ready and its commercial launch is in the final stages. It is expected that its first batch will start running on the tracks by June 2026. In the first phase, it will be run on those routes where the number of daily passengers is high, like Delhi-Meerut, Lucknow-Kanpur and Mumbai-Lonavala.

The maximum speed of Vande Metro will be 130 to 160 km/hr, which is much higher than normal local trains. This will save 25 to 30 percent time of passengers. This means that now the daily journey will become faster and easier than before.

The journey will be full of facilities

Passengers will get modern facilities in these trains. Facilities like air conditioned coaches, comfortable seats, mobile charging points, modern toilets and automatic doors will make the journey better. Along with this, anti-collision technology like armor will also increase safety.

Capacity for thousands of passengers simultaneously

Vande Metro has been specially designed for more passengers. This train with 16 coaches can accommodate about 1566 passengers, while the total capacity will be 4364 passengers. There will be enough space for those traveling while standing.

Rental and production planning

Its minimum fare can be around Rs 30, which will be slightly more than local trains, but is considered economical according to the facilities. Railways is aiming to make around 50 Vande Metro trains this year.
