According to the new report of telecom regulator TRAI, in the month of April, Airtel, Jio, BSNL and Vi, all the telecom companies have added a huge amount of new users to their networks. TRAI has released telecom data for April 2026, which will once again see a huge increase in the number of wireless subscribers. All four telecom operators have added more wireless subscribers in April compared to March. In March, the number of wireless i.e. mobile and fixed wireless (FWA) users in India was 1,282.33 million i.e. 1.28 billion, which has increased to 1,288.96 million i.e. about 1.29 billion in April. The number of users has increased by 0.52% in April as compared to March.
Who added how many users?
In the month of April, all four telecom operators have added a large number of new users to their networks. Airtel has added maximum 31,39,228 (31.39 lakh) new users. At the same time, Jio has added 29,42,643 (29.42 lakh) new users during this period. Both the telecom companies have once again created a large number of new users.
At the same time, Vi and BSNL have also been successful in saving their reputation in the month of April. Vodafone-Idea has added 53,257 new users to its network in April. At the same time, the number of BSNL users has also increased by 76,175. In comparison to Airtel and Jio, the number of users of these two companies has increased significantly, but the users of any telecom company have not decreased.
Jio continues to shine
Reliance Jio continues to be the leading telecom operator in the country. The company has a total of 499.28 million i.e. 49.28 crore wireless users. At the same time, Airtel has 480.88 million i.e. about 48.88 crore wireless users. Vodafone-Idea has 198.54 million i.e. 19.85 crore users, while the number of BSNL users is 93.02 million i.e. 9.3 crore.
