Young cricketer Jai Mundhra, who made headlines with his brilliant performance in the T20I series against India, has now got a big reward. For the first time, he has been included in the Ireland team announced for the first three matches of the five-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Ireland Cricket Board has announced a 14-man squad for the first three ODI matches. Captain Paul Stirling, who was out of the T20I series against India due to injury, has returned to the team. Along with Jai Mundra, Ben Calitz is also a player who has played T20I cricket but is still waiting for his ODI debut.
McDonough got his first chance
24-year-old medium pacer Byron McDonough has also been included in the Ireland squad for the first time. Recently, he played a key role in Leinster Lightning’s title win in the Inter-Provincial Limited Overs Cup. McDonough, who took eight wickets in five matches, has so far taken 15 wickets in nine List-A matches.
